Where did the idea of the remake on the hit begin? Tommy says, “I'd been thinking about a remake of "Draggin' The Line" for a long time and felt that a street version might be perfect. I got ahold of T.O.N.E-z, who is a great friend and an amazing talent, to lay down a rap. Then I called in another fantastic friend, Stevie Van Zandt, to record the guitar solo.”  The track is featured on Alive, James’ first new album in ten years. The album charted #10 on Billboard’s Independent Chart.
Tommy James is no rookie to the music industry. He has long been known as a music innovator and masterful writer and producer, revered for his cutting edge work on his multiple platinum hits including “Crimson & Clover,” Mony Mony,” and “Crystal Blue Persuasion.”
Today, Tommy can be heard weekly on his SiriusXM 60s On 6 satellite radio show, or in concert while he continues to tour the U.S. playing dozens of sold out shows annually. Not only that; his critically acclaimed autobiography, Me The Mob and The Music, has a film version in the works with producer Barbara DeFina (Good Fellas, Casino).
