“Say What You Mean” is the lead single off Em’s latest EP. If you have a romantic bone in your body, you’re going to want to give this one a listen. The lyrics are very sensual and poetic. Em says that she has gotten inspiration from many iconic female artists such as Carly Simon, Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morrissette, and P!nk, as well as legendary male performers Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Don Henley, and Michael Jackson. This is definitely reflected in her music! 

On this particular project, Em collaborates with the talented producer Chris Young. Together, they create a lyrically rich body of work filled with self-empowerment. You’re probably wondering, who is PIERA? Well, they’re a duo based in California consisting of musicians Piera Klein and Micah Plissner. Klein is the lead vocalist of the group, who composes and writes the music as well! Plissner on the other hand produces their music and plays multiple instruments. When you factor in all their talents, it comes as no surprise that their music is as good as it is.

These two are moving up on the radio charts as we speak! #128 on the global top 200 internet radio and #29 on the global top 150 indepdent chart to be exact. PIERA is the dark electronic - synth-pop duo formed by singer/songwriter/producer, Piera Klein and songwriter/producer Micah Plissner. The video for Unraveling sees the two confront the dark emotional landscape of a broken relationship while losing hope for love. In the times of COVID-19, Unraveling is nothing if not relatable to any relationship. With an instantly catchy song built upon classic synth-pop and a video inspired by visual artists such as James Turrell and Zaha Hadid, PIERA looked to connect the neo-futuristic design with the song’s lyrics and theme of mental/emotional isolation. With a clean aesthetic, the video feels both modern yet classic.

Based in Los Angeles, PIERA’s sound is informed by the combination of their diverse unique backgrounds. Micah is not only a producer, but also a multi-instrumentalist originally from New York City. Piera is a singer, composer, songwriter, and California native who has experienced and observed many aspects of the world.
