Tommy James Spotify music mashup of oldies but goodies with Cinnamon Girl Sunshine of your love

Tommy James knows how to make a hit Spotify single with his vibrant and exciting mashup of Neil Young’s Cinnamon Girl and Cream’s Sunshine of your love. The oldies but goodies blew up in the  60’s and early 70’s, but Tommy James knew that 2020 would be the perfect time to release his track worldwide via Aura Entertainment/The Orchard.

When asked about his creative choices, James says, “I’ve been wanting to glue these two songs together for a long time.” He claims his inspiration came from the songs remarkably similar tempo and key and “the riffs work together hand-in-glove.”

"Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young with Crazy Horse was on the album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere released in 1969, reached #34 in 1970 on Billboard magazine's Top 200.  "Sunshine Of Your Love" by Cream was on the album Disraeli Gears released in 1967, reached #77 in 1968 on the LP chart.

Tommy isn’t new to rebranding old hits and making them into chart toppers. This year he also released a remake of his 1970’s song, Draggin’ the Line, which he transformed by having new features T.O.N.E.z and Steven Van Zandt appear on the track.

Tommy now has his own show on SIRIUS/XM RADIO – “Getting’ Together With Tommy James” – Sunday evenings from 5-8 pm on the 60’s at 6 channel

Classic rock Cream wrote Sunshine of your love single before Tommy James Spotify rendition

The successful Tommy James knew Cinnamon Girl and Sunshine of Your Love would fit together like a glove. In this bright and tight mashup of Neil Young’s enduring 1970 love song and Cream’s haunting Top 5 hit from ‘67, James showcases his enduring skills as a singer and producer.

Tommy James has long been known as a music innovator and masterful writer and producer, revered for his cutting edge work on his multiple platinum hits including “Crimson & Clover,” Mony Mony,” and “Crystal Blue Persuasion.”

Tommy James' road to superstardom began when a nightclub DJ in Pittsburgh discovered a two-year-old record by "The Shondells" and played it at his weekend dances. The crowd response was so overwhelmingly positive that radio deejays started spinning it and an enterprising record distributor bootlegged it, selling 80,000 copies in ten days. By May of 1966 "Hanky Panky" was the number one record in Pittsburgh and Tommy James was a sensation.

Today, Tommy can be heard weekly on his SiriusXM 60s On 6 satellite radio show, and continues to tour the U.S., playing dozens of sold out shows annually. His critically acclaimed autobiography, Me The Mob and The Music, has a film version in the works with producer Barbara DeFina (Good Fellas, Casino).
