What do music artist rap legend Eminem and the young talented recording artist Em have in common? Absolutely nothing, other than the fact that their names are similar and they both have an amazing music catalog under their belt. And no, I did not catfish you into coming here! I just wanted to share another amazing artist that you might love if you listen to Eminem.

Em is native New Jersey alternative singer songwriter who just released a 7-song projected self-titled EM. The lead single off this project is titled “Say What You Mean”. Em herself says “I feel the song is a universal message and represents the ethereal, emotional side of my writing.” She calls herself a huge romantic and the lead single is about her wanting someone to love with “every fiber of her being.” Fortunately for us, the ethereal song is also accompanied with a mesmerizing video directed by Parris Mayhew.

On this project, she finds herself collaborating with producer Chris Young. Together, they transform the  project into a lyrically rich body of work filled with self-empowerment. The album includes moody tracks, including “Dear Life”, “Even When It Hurts” and “Bllue Light”.

Although the band is currently Seattle based, it was actually born in Los Angeles. Joe Fox and the Frantics formed in 2016 as a new creative and pop outlet for singer/songwriter Joe Fox and collaborator/producer/multi-instrumentalist Aaron Edwards. As a team, they produced singles and projects with a blend of Indie, Pop, and British Alternative to transcend a new genre of alternative indie pop music. The band takes their love for classic rock music, as well as alternative music, to the next level.

The band is receiving praise for the track, some even comparing them to The Killers—whom Brandon Flowers is the lead singer of. Dom Vigil of the Prelude Press says that the track is very spooky and infectious; “it evokes the dance parties of an era past.” The praise does not stop there. The Seattle-based band has a very signature yet familiar sound to them. They create a fresh take on indie pop by blending elements of Indie, Pop, British Alternative that remind some of the Killers. Other singles out on streaming services as well. You can listen to all their other hits like “Never Learned to Love Nice”, “Black Lipstick”, and “Madeline” everywhere to get more of a feel of their alternative flow.

Infectious grooves and strong story-telling are combined with energetic live shows to keep fans coming back for more. The band says that “Dancin’ Shoes” was inspired by Fox’s eclectic tastes and his want to bring a fresh sound to the music scene.
