Em is a native New Jersey singer songwriter whose musical quest began with childhood inspiration. Iconic retro pop influences, a poetic soul, and a sensual flair- she transforms the sound waves into a higher vibration.
Everywhere she goes, singer/songwriter Em carries a ring on her finger emblazoned with one word: Truth. This ring is a resounding symbol of her arrival into knowledge of self as a young woman who has been a recording and performing artist since the age of 12. Now in her `20s following stepping stone periods with several high-profile producers and engineers, New Jersey-born Em (short for Emily) is chiseling out musical and visual performance art that speaks one hundred percent from her heart and spirit.

At least from my interpretation.. You get to see the love story unravel between me and my boyfriend Giuseppe as soon as the music is played.. Their love language together.”

EM Say What You Mean on YouTube Has That Lana Del Rey Alternative Pop Style
The music video, shot by Parris Mayhew, features Em in a provocative gown, her raven hair streaked in white, and deep red lipstick. Mystical elements such as ghostly clones, tarot cards, and raindrops that turn to tears are also present. Em says this video was inspire by Lana Del Rey’s storytelling in the way it represents women of today, but through a 50’s and 60’s lens. “Say What You Mean” without a doubt represents the ethereal and emotional side of Em’s songwriting. Lana Del Rey isn’t Em’s only musical inspiration. She has also drawn from icons Stevie Nicks, Carly Simon, and Alanis Morissette, and it shows in her art. She’s already preparing her next album Embrace: Heaven on Earth, who she’ll be working with former Motown songwriter/producer Michael B. Sutton (Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson). Pop Artist Em Releases New Single Say What You Mean Inspired by Lorde Now on Spotify
New Jersey singer/songwriter Em has released her new single, Say What You Mean, inspired by alternative pop artist Lorde. The emotional love song can be found on streaming platforms now. Em says, “I feel the song is a universal message and represents the ethereal, emotional side of my writing.” The hopeless romantics are definitely going to want to check this one out! This song is the lead single off her new EP – Em. Say What You Mean is the lead single off her new EP – Em. Her previous EP, Pathway to Aetheria, was pushing toward the ‘indie-world,’ but since then she has been working towards a more Carly Simon, Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel-esque sound.
The video is accompanied by a mesmerizing and supernatural video shot by Parris Mayhew. You’ll see Em dressed in a provocative gown, raven hair streaked with white, and deep red lipstick.
