Their genre-defying sound stems from a combination of their diverse backgrounds: Micah a multi-instrumentalist and producer originally from New York City and Piera, singer, songwriter, composer, and California native with a globe-trotting history. Their sound is electronic, underground, beat-driven, synth pop, with psychedelic undertones and haunting vocals.

The mystical indie and synth-feeling track “Unraveling” is the first of their latest releases. The duo also just released two other highly anticipated singles, “Cosmic Reaction” and “As Good As You” to stream on Spotify.

Pop Artist Em Releases New Single Say What You Mean Inspired by Lorde Now on Spotify

New Jersey singer/songwriter Em has released her new single, Say What You Mean, inspired by alternative pop artist Lorde. The emotional love song can be found on streaming platforms now. Em says, “I feel the song is a universal message and represents the ethereal, emotional side of my writing.” The hopeless romantics are definitely going to want to check this one out! Watch it for yourself on YouTube.

This song is the lead single off her new EP – Em. Say What You Mean is the lead single off her new EP – Em. Her previous EP, Pathway to Aetheria, was pushing toward the ‘indie-world,’ but since then she has been working towards a more Carly Simon, Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel-esque sound.

The video is accompanied by a mesmerizing and supernatural video shot by Parris Mayhew. You’ll see Em dressed in a provocative gown, raven hair streaked with white, and deep red lipstick. A variety of mystical elements makes this video stand out and do the song justice. You can listen to the track—which matches the video perfectly--to your Apply Music Playlist here.

It doesn’t stop there, Em is already preparing her next album, Embrace: Heaven on Earth. She’ll be working with former Motown songwriter/producer Michael B. Sutton (Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson). We can’t wait to hear it and whatever else is next for her! Listen to the project  on Spotify here.
